I'm glad everyone enjoyed themselves. Sorry eh if we took too long to find the cake. Poor Fai had an ear splitting headache tt spoilt his mood. But i'm sure it was all worth it to see the wide grin on his beloved face. Awww~

School's out. 3 weeks attachment at AMK Thye Hua Kwan Hospital. Thank god its not so far away. Only one stop away from YCK mrt. So i can at least sleep on the bus before and after work. yayness

First day was quite okay. The staff lounge is damn big uh. Got tv, exercise bike all. But what is most important is the sofa. I still prefer the one at SGH tearoom. Kinda miss it somehow. HAHA its super comfy la. Can spend the whole day just sleeping there. Might even be more comfy than my own bed.

One bad thing abt nursing. The language barrier. Some elderlys cant speak malay or english. Then its like so hard to communicate with them. I mean hand signs can only go so far uh. It takes the fun out of talking with them and to create rapport with them..

Me: Hello auntie! *smiles* Boleh cakap Melayu tak?
Auntie: Bu hui. *shakes head*
Me: *downcast face* Ouhh.. okay *cue: awkward silence*

AHAHA
damn la sey. i've been telling xinfang tt i wanted to make like a small translation book on the diff dialects. Like the basic words used in hospital. Since year one la. Now still no go. LOL
I only know some words like 'peng--> turn'; 'kacheng ki lai---> carry ur backside up'; 'shuae ya--> blood pressure' etc and some basic mandarin. Still so much more to master. And i dun even know what dialects the words are in. Just that they're CHINESE words. heeh~

hmm and my contact lens is giving me problems. i will often get headaches after wearing them. so i carry panadols everywhere. But paracetamol is not good for my kidneys uh. Then after i take them out, i'll have like this redness around my pupils. The contact lens shop uncle, urm practitioner [more professional term] said its not good. Should let the eyes rest. Cannot wear lenses everyday. Can lead to BLINDNESS. Wah piang~
but i rely on my contacts!

My tagboard has been tainted now. Dude, whoever you are. I have no idea why u are finding fault with me or my blog. But i have a strong suspicion you know me and my band. You're the past. Okay now on to the blogging side..
Am having loads of fun with Des. We watched Shutter till i screamed myself hoarse. Jackass 2 was just pure laughter (the old man with dangling balls! the puke bowl! AHAHA) We used my big brother's portable DVD player. Omg. That thing is super cool uh. Graphics is good. Volume can go super loud. (shuperr!~ haha) Only problem is the battery strength. Keeps dying out on us. Needs to be plugged into a socket. Anyone know a nice, quiet place outside with a socket? FREE government power! woots~

BAYBEATS 07 was effing GREAT! Espesh Blindside, One Buck Short, Plainsunset and BQuartet. Wish we came sooner to catch AVA but was caught up in watching Shutter and the taxi line was hell. Ahh next time then. No worries baby.

i was told my hair was virgin hair cuz i have never styled it before. Nice? I keep waking up and getting paranoid that my curls will go missing. I swear. LOL first time i permed my hair ma. Can't blame me.. Everyone's reactions were priceless! Espesh my little brothers'.. "Wargh! Kak Ella nak jadi macam Harajuku girls ehk?" HAHA basket.




I think i have a love hate relationship with my hair. At times i feel that it's messy and non-managable but at times i love it to bits! When its not dry that is.. Think i have to keep my hair mosturised.. Wont regret doing this. Thanks Josh and Angela!

omg. i was so darn estatic when i found out Blindside was gonna come to play for BAYBEATS. Their music are very nice. I'll categorise Blindside and Bleed The Dream together as they have the same sound and style. Yeh but BTD songs are much much more catchy. GOSH. so how long more to wait till all the other big bands come and have a concert on our little red dot? hmm.. we've already welcomed A7X, FOB, The Cure, Black Sabbath, Gwen Stefani etc
maybe the mention of SINGAPORE in Pirates Of The Caribbean 3 might have had some effect on these bands? LOL

Rampage The Durian [a one year tribute to Rampage On The Airwaves] totally kept my mind off the problem at hand. Me, Fai and Zim reached Esplanade too late to watch Rika. But we were there for one mission: To watch A Vacant Affair!

I bought a green AVA teeshirt for $18 and badges at $2 for 2. Supernice texture the shirt is made of. Hmm but i should have gotten the small size instead of medium. Heh.. its a ferris wheel design with a face in front of it. The words: A VACANT AFFAIR. please take your shirts. your smiles aren't working no more' adorn the front of the tee. OMG. How About Enough is my fave AVA song! What with the lyrics and guitars.. woot~

at the end of the whole thing we wanted to go approach Matt. Fai wanted to know if they were gonna sell AVA merch during BandzOut 2007. we stood infront, a bit to the right, side of the merch table debating on how to approach him. LOL. it was like that for like 10 minutes i swear.
then everyone seemed to be leaving, so i was like ahh wth! let's just go.. so we turned our heels and walk away.. heh.
you know why we cant do it? well its partly cuz i dunt have BALLS [i'm a babe ok?] but mostly cuz we were damn bloody STARSTRUCK! omg. :O

and we also did not want to appear to 'angkat bola' like what the malays like to say. Suck it to them' in English it means. HEH so mayb we'll pluck up the courage to talk during BandzOut?! Ouhh and another piece of bad news:( the A Vacant Affair EP that i preordered in HMV will only arrive next 2 weeks. AVA is coming next week..

How am i gonna get them to sign it? Rrrrr.
Maybe at their next gig i guess. I sure will approach them next time i have the album :)

Rant.

ok i am so unbelievably pissed right now. A warning to everyone of my readers- this is one of those posts where i just rant on abt something that is occupying my mind at the present time. In the time that i'm writing this, i might not be in a correct state of mind and i might regret what i wrote and this post might magically disappear after recuperation phase but it might not.

okay see i have this junior in guitar club. he shall not be named. Lets just call him ASH for ASsHole ok. i am so goddamn pissed right now you cant imagine how many bad words wanna spill out into my blog but i'll have to keep my image as a cute and INNOCENT girl. And i do not want to be deleted. fullstop.

HAHA my rant on my other blog got deleted and PURGED sia. LOL. Dunno why uh. maybe i used bad words or that i did not log on often. *sigh what is done is done. maybe case is resolved. maybe not..

well as u all know i am in love with the kind of music i'm listening to. so i really hate it when ppl come up and say that emo sucks or is just people crying and trying to slit of their wrists and wearing all black eyeliners and shit. For all those who know me, you know damn well i am not like this. I am only in in for the MUSIC not the CULTURE. I am even proud of what i am, of what i listen to. i dun judge a band just cuz of its genre. i know i'm bragging here but i know of many many bands both underground and mainstream. and you. what do YOU know? i asked you what emo bands do you listen to? he stated My Chemical Romance. then i said well i like screamo more actually. what screamo bands do you know? he went: Linkin Park. I laffed my ass off la. LP is nu-metal ok? you dun even know screamo and emo still wanna talk big. Go listen to your britney spears and LJ songs and sit under ur rock for all i care.

So this *insert badword here* ASH is always calling me EMO and laffing in his DAMN *badword!* annoying high pitched voice. He calls me EMO everytime i see him and laughs as if its a bad thing. Then he relates the stupid cultur-fic practices like slitting of wrists to me by asking me whether i do that. So i asnwered, Of cuz not. I think that's just stupid. you dun cut your wrists just cuz ur emo. or vice versa. Then i ASKED HIM BACK, since he was talking so much abt it as if he was the effing genius abt emo. His answer was that he was scared. HAH~ stupid ass

but tt was an old incident. what sparked this rant happened just five minutes ago. I was on the way back from Cheers to my nursing block. Then i saw him walking towards me with his guitar and a guy friend. I recognised that the friend was one of the dude that could dance real well during Jam & Hop. Being the good person that i am i acknowledged ASH. Just small talk [note tt not all seniors are friendly towards their juniors]. I asked him why was his hair like that. [ his hair was damn fcuked up la can?! like one mini explosion on his head. But i didnt ask him why it was so ugly. note: i am a good girl]. But he cut me short.

*points at me* EH! EMO! His friend took one look at me and laughed. i just walked on speechless. I didnt even care to look at him. Imagine a dark cloud above my head. Eff la! i dont even know your friend and u made fun of me in front of him. DO YOU THINK THAT I DO NOT HAVE FEELINGS?! not like you. *insert many many bad words* think before you talk ok fatty. UGH. i dont care anymore. HATE me now if u want cuz i alr HATE you..

i seriously feel like i do not need you to be someone in my life. someone not as in a friend. someone as in an individual. no one needs to know someone like you. from now onwards i will not acknowledge you in the corridors unless there is an absolute need to. you just get on my nerves wayy too much. seriously who the fcuk needs enemies when you've got friends like this. but dude, SERIOUSLY youre no friend.

Hope AVA plays a real rocking set with all the hxc dancing and screaming yea.

Enjoyed my ass off at RFW. Caracal and West Grand Boulevard were damn energetic. Its was a pleasure to watch them perform(: I like to watch the guitarist of WGB perform. heh. Ouh CARACAL managed to get into the finals of Baybeats 07. All the best!

yeah so as a tribute lets have a moment's silence for Wayne Seah of the Suns. He's a cool guy but i hate to have ppl passing on when they still have so much more of life to enjoy.. Rest in peace dude. Hope u move on to a better place~

Band auditions was yesterday. It was nervewrecking but still very fun. Thank god the judges weren't those mean and strict kind who'll bite off our heads at every mistake. Comments they gave us were guitar was too soft; need to tune up a bit more cuz the solo couldn't be heard. OMG and Zim had to stay up to learn the solos in like two friggindays. Then they said vocals should be cleaned up abit. Bass and drums are tight but can be tighter. But the good comments they gave us were: Looove the outfit! Good stage presence. Love the dancing~! [ great job ppl! maybe we shld think abt joining the DanceFloor eh? :P]

we were packing up to leave and was abt to leave the jamming studio when one of the judges said.. 'Good job you guys. But when you get to the finals you should polish up on Stand By Me.. The blablablabla...' OMG those were the magic words. WHEN WE GET TO THE FINALS~

Wish we had recorded the judges' comments so we could contemplate what we heard and what we did not hear.. hmm but its disappointing to know that out of the eleven bands that registered there was only seven that turned up for auditions. And they are choosing six bands to play for finals.. DARN i dun wanna win by default. That's like damn pathetic sia.. ugh. Dunno if they'll change the rules or line up and stuff. We'll just wait and see. The results come out next week!!!

Okay time to talk about ME!
Most of you guys wouldn't have known about this but i just had an ear surgery. Its a minor ear surgery to patch up the hole in my ear drum. I learnt in school that these kinda hole usually heal on their own but this particular one is kinda stubborn. Been 3 weeks still it didnt heal so a surgery was to be scheduled. I forgot the medical term something-plasty eh. HAHA paiseh~ The person who wrote it down also got some problem with the handwriting. LOL cannot read properly ar..

Anyway it was a heck of an experience! I was already lying on the surgery table awaiting the anesthetic nurse to put me to sleep. Then the mask was on my face. Had to breathe in the sleeping gas.. Skali they injected one effingpainfulashell medication into my I/V site. Sialah~ The pain spread all the way up my left arm like wildfire!
I quickly inhaled the sleeping gas as if i was deprived of oxygen and also as it was the only thing that could keep the pain away.

Had to stay overnight for one night with the bandage on my head like a wannabe Ninja Turtle. Face swollen and feeling drowsy. Ugh. Then the next day was discharged and doctor cut away the bandages. Went home straight via taxi. It was then that i got to see my stitches in all its GLORY. Like WTH?! eeeeeeeeeeeee so gory la. Purple color stitches all the way down my left ear. Now i have trouble hearing cuz its still swollen.

Eff i have trouble even to feel my ears la. So numb. I keep telling ppl i feel like Ms Potato Head like my ear is gonna drop off anytime i jump around or move too much. I'm so scared cuz now is the second day and i still cant feel my ear properly. I dunno if this is a common side effect. Mummy i need my ears~ Dun wanna go deaf :'(
So far not much pain just deafness and a bit uncomfortable. Hope i can regain it fast.. In time for BandzOut 2007.

I soo did enjoy my holidays! And it's not even the end of the first week of school.. I've mentioned about the gigs that have been going on during the hols. Too bad i was not able to go to Anberlin's concert and to Rock The Sub. All was not lost though cuz i finally got to meet the guys of Valentine's Letter. Had so much funn.. The guys are such jokers. Hope we get to meet soon. I want proper pictures of you guys~

Its 1:33 in the AM and i am pooped! Had NAPFA just now and i am oh-so-not happy with my results. Only managed to scrape by with a BRONZE. Ugh my inclined pull-up was only a pathetic 6. Can't blardy believe it.. After the whole thing i felt kinda disappointed with myself but well guess i should have trained harder. My fault~ Everyone say it with me: DAMN YOU SU!

Which brings me to the next issue: BUSY BUSY BUSY!
Yes just like the song by The Fray that is playing on my WMP right now.. 'Everyone knows I'm in over my head, over my head..' But the only problem is the 'everyone' part cuz it seems like many people do not know how much work i hafta do now. Half a year and all the ICAs are piled up together. Being the subgroup leader for all 6 modules doesn't help either. That and being VP for NYPGuitarClub. Someone run me down with a sharp object.. PLEASE!
This problem was really biting into me like no one's business till i broke down one Friday. What do you take me for? A robot? Well i guess this robot has had enough..

Sayang managed to calm my sorrows and help me think straight. Thanks a lot dear. You don't know how much it means to me.. I can never say this enough. I AM SO GLAD I MET YOU!
Well the answer to this problem is that i have to prioritise my time properly. And like Jeremy said, TIME MANAGEMENT is everything~ Wish i had that skill though.. heh

Have officially been bitten by the Korean bug. Lately there's been a craze going round of girls watching Korean dramas and such. Particularly this one girl called Hailwa. Been crazy about Rain for godknowshowlong. She and her Full House drama. Damn i wanted to watch the I Am A Cyborg but I'm Okay or something but the movie wasn't showing by the time we got round to seeing it.. She had this clip on her blog of Xiah from DBSK imitating Rain and of Heechul dancing to Rain's song. Farnie as hell. And to think these were my first exposure, my introduction to the little part of the world known as Korea.

Sayang had already started watching Super Junior- Full House when she told me about it. So one day while supposed to be finding stuff for my ICA i decided to take a rest and hop over to Youtube.com. Typed in Super Junior and the search came out with loads of different videos. Randomly picked a show. It was Episode 6- the Taekkyon martial arts lesson [with Eng subtitles of cuz]. Something about them wearing the Taekkyon suit attracted me to the clip so i watched it. After the first puff, i was HOOKED. .-line and sinker

3 BIG events just went past in a span of just 4 days: Club Crawl 2007, Jam N Hop 2007 and our NYPGC Freshmen Orientation 2007.

Club Crawl was okay. We had 215 people signing up at our booth. Mostly are for enrichment courses but we are gonna work hard to convince them to stay with the club after the course ends. Guitar Club is funn~ Trust me! Hehe.
For Club Crawl this year we wanted to make a giant guitar. And so we DID!

It is approximately 2.7 times bigger than a normal guitar. Had fun making the damn thing. But it was already coming apart near the end of Day One. By Day Two it was unfixable! And so we took it down for a rest. It ended up in the bin at the end of Day Two, which was kinda slow cuz not many freshies came to the Sports Hall. Ugh should have taken more pictures of our GIANT guitar.. We could have done better with the banner though. Poster was uber cool with electric guitars all over. Thanks Syarah! I think that poster might have pulled in a number of people and made them interested. Ouh and performance-wise; Erika, Marcus and Elton did a good job by representing GC. Thanx guys!

Thanks to all of those who have helped out with the decor, set-up, promoting.. whole event actually. Yeahh~ I'mma happy with the result(:

Jam N Hop was fun! They had a live band playing. Whoa the bass, guitars and drums were nice though the singing could have been improved. Oh and Michelle won Best Dancer. You GO GIRL! haha. Finally. A new MP3 eh? I 'm sooo gonna send u my songs.. Alesana wheeeeee~
Yes and there were many DDG freshmen. Its me and Sayang's code for Drop Dead Gorgeous btw. LOL~
Damn the fact that i only have half a year in school left. I am sooo gonna miss everyone :'(

NYPGC Orientation 2007
Yeahh~ am really happy with the results of the event. Thanks to Kenneth C for the vision he had to have the Orientation in the TFA. We had a mini concert kinda thing. Was real informal and the impromptu emcees rocked the house! Thanks so much Joe and Mark. Thanks to all who came to help out and congrats to all performers. All of u just earned one CCA point! LOL
Though it was a bit hurried with the auditions and guitar reservations.. Everyone was so pooped and busy that we weren't able to go out after the event. Last year we went ice-skating right aft Orientation. But dun fret guys we are gonna plan an outing real soon for all of us to bond together and enjoy ourself~~ I need destressing. STAT!

Just thought i cld squeeze in one entry before i head off to sleep.
Well first of all i wanna talk abt all this mix up with emo and stuff. I mean just the other day a friend was watching a clip and commenting how 'emo' Britney looked being all cooped up or something i forgot. But it infuriates me how he can use the word 'emo' and 'Britney' all in one sentence. Damn i hate that lady uh. And u can stop with ur showing off cuz it wont work~ HAH

whatevs. i'm just letting off steam~

Nowadays many ppl are using the word 'emo' too loosely. Like "Aww.. He looks sad. He's acting so 'emo'. Cheer up kid noone's dying.. Or "No uh she's not emo cuz she's too happy. You're more moody so you MUST be more 'emo' than her." Like WTF. These things seem like small things but it still gets on my nerves uh~

Then my fren did something tt really pissed me off. I was listening to my songs out loud on my phone [Dead Language by Vanna]. Being a man with 'superior taste in music' he hates all punk songs and stuff.. Then he started strumming haphazardly while singing "I'm emo i'm mad. I'm emo i'm sad sad. i wanna kill ppl.." Those kind of stupid things. ARGH i just felt like screaming in his face to STFU but being the nice girl that i am, i put my bag down and stayed away for a few minutes. I mean DUDE! this is MY genre. MY fave music. You have no right to say bad things abt my fave kind of music. Think before you talk. You would like it if i made fun of what u love will you? I'll rather u just smack my phone silent or break it or whatever rather than say those stupid shit ~

If u don't know anything abt the genre. Then be quiet. You're hurting others who are in love with it.

Sorry readers but i couldn't stand it anymore. I have to blurt it out some where some time..

yes and i so miss going to gigs at Gashaus. The other time i went gigs like every week for 3 weeks straight uh. Now i'm having serious withdrawal symptoms.. Moshing or just watching ppl mosh in a darkened room full of ppl who love what i love might keep my mind off things.. takemeout~

Band session as in practice unplugged kinda thing. W/o the electric guitars. Faisal had to improvise with the high chair and cowbells. But it sounded great still~

Ahh the perks of being vice president. LOL shhh. We didn't mess up the room if that's what you're worried about. But we did some prancing about the room and headbanging and basically enjoying the music.. Then suddenly a familiar tune came up: 'Hey there. I know it's hard to feel..' Zim our bassist/guitarist quickly 'angkat kaki jalan' la dey~
Haha for those who are confused, he kicked up his heels and got the hell out of the room. Being crazy jerks that we are [LOL], we opened the door and sang the song out loud [serenade more like.. haha] to him outside the room. Chasing and singing. Damn it was funn~

movie fest beb.
Mr Bean's Holiday with my little brothers [mum didn't want to come. was very tired she said..] but we enjoyed ourselves very much. Went to Bishan in the evening to watch after they came back from school. Didn't know my bros were so horny seeing women in low neck tees. I laughed out loud one to many times in Long John and the cinema. HAHA. real fun~
but we went back home and got an earful. parents didn't approve of me bringing them out on a school night. Won't happen again! *fingers crossed* but sat and sunday rates are expensive la~

Watched The History Boys with Hailwa. Didn't enjoy it much cuz the movie was abt gays and stuff. Touchy subject la. And her mum was angry with her and wanted her to be home fast. So we kinda rushed and stuff.. Oooo but the dude has a realllly nice voice and he sings well along with the piano. i loved the skit part abt the brothel and German hospital. Funny la. Sad that the mods scene kid had to die..

Freedom Writers rocks! I like the angmoh quiet kid's character. Hehe. Nice nice hair! The movie was great. Abt gang fights and racialism in the US. How true it still exists a bit nowadays.. I so want to read/borrow/buy/own the book: The Freedom Writers. Can't find it anywhere in the library. A must watch like 300!

Watched TMNT with Hailwa and Farhan. Haha the movie wasnt all that nice. Maybe cuz i wanted to watch something with more meaning. Something that will make me think.. Like the Number 23 or something along that lines. Brought back sweet childhood memories though~ Cowabunga dudes!
