the weather sure has been going out of hand lately.
last week it was scorching hot
then this week it has been raining for like 4 days..
it's not that i'm complaining cuz its cold
i mean i prefer it rather than sweating like a pig on a pit

its just that this change of weather means my rashes are coming out like more often
its friggin frustrating
(i need my anti-godzilla meds!)
the itchiness is really too much
the worst is when its on the head and the sole of the feet
so if a mosquito ever wants to bite you
tell them to bite you elsewhere~

i've been suffering so much cuz i'm really really short of medication
am currently on this anti-histamine, Cetirizine
now down to the last tablet
wasnt able to go to the polyclinic cuz of work [8-4pm]
but good news (no, GREAT news!!) is tt im on PM shift on Monday
so a trip to the polyclinic to get my survival medication!!
woohoo~

and i know i havent been blogging as much.

So at lunch time, in our NYP fast food canteen where our McD outlet is located, the whole class sitting in one of those longer/larger tables; stood up and ate their BigMac and Chicken McSpicy. Just to prove a point to their fellow coursemates.. And probably to bask in all the attention ppl were giving them~

basically i just love my job!

lately i've been watching loads of korean movies and starting to watch some dramas.
but dramas really need a whole lot of patience.
I've finished Princess Hours which is really awesome. The actors and actresses are gorgeous and they all have this chemistry tt's hard to describe. Near the end, when all the bad things started to happen, i could really feel my heart beat pulse like crazy. I even ended up wondering why it was so. Why i got all so caught up in all this business..

Since a long time ago i've liked watching korean/ japanese movies. The more tear-jerking the better. Or a comedy like the one Rain acted in (I'm A Cyborg But I'm Okay). But i never really paid attention to it.
Then there was this Korean madness starting in teenage girls. I think it started like middle of last year? I didnt think i would get affected.
But hanging out with Korean-crazy friends can do wonders i tell you.

When surfing Youtube, i kinda always end up searching for new MVs by TVXQ or my favourite Super Junior! Heh.. these guys always make me smile. Like really! Whenever i feel down and need a perk-me-up, i'll listen to their songs or watch their shows online.
And lately,
I've started adding more and more Korean songs into my mp3 (tho it already is so goddamn full. no more space la seh.. GAHH! buy me a 16 GB mp3 and i'll love you FOREVER! ;p) and deleting more English songs in the process. And nowadays i tend to scroll to listen to those songs more than the normal bunch of Eng songs.
Its like i dont get the same high listening to Eng songs than when i'm listening to Kor or Jap.
I used to not understand these people..

but now i guess i might be turning into one of them.
but not tt hardcore la.

Recently met up with Prim to catch Peepshow's Ep launch. Everything was set up nicely. I loved the colored shirt arrangement they had. Cool idea. Three members at the foreground wearing black (Mik -rhythm guitar, Zaki - vox, SK - lead guitar) and the other three members in white (Yuk - keyboards, Edmund - drums, Sam - bass).
The energy in which they played was great. They also performed two covers, Hero by Foo Fighters and Anna Molly by Incubus.
Phoarr we went crazy la seh when Zaki announced that they were gonna perform Anna Molly!
LOL.

i havent been home long enough to go online and also due to the downside of having lotsa siblings who also need their fix of internet surfing.
i have been out and about for almost everyday these past two weeks
spending time with friends and family
loving every moment

thanks to kai, adi, faisal, sakinah and zul
for the glorious time we had at pulau ubin yesterday
i have always been a fan of cycling, nature
and adventure outings.

so pulau ubin was an idea waiting to happen!
fuzzy went a week earlier and got bitten by mosquitoes
but thanks to the ever dutiful armybrand mosquito repellant,
we escaped bumps-free(:

best times was
the countless downhill slopes
feeling the breeze on my back
screaming and whooping in joy
bending low to embrace the speed
gosh i so miss the feeling
adrenalin equals ultimate euphoria~

just the scenery is reason enough to pack your bags and have a little family picnic
i remember vaguely once when i was younger
my aunts, my cousins and my family would sit by the beach eating
nasi lemak while we kids played by the shoreline
but i cant for the life of me remember the ferry ride there.
heh i wonder why.
too bad the scenic seaside picture was tainted with the new installation of the iron fence all around the island
to keep the illegal immigrants at bay

our tour guides, kai and adi, wanted to bring us to the quarry area
but it was closed off
tt was a minor setback..
we took pictures of the place tho.
and loads more funny poses
i even had a new hairdo!

then halfway zul's bike's front tire blew a flat.
we went back to the starting point to change the bike
and discovered a wonderful gassy lemonade drink
zul's 2nd bike proved to be a pain as well
the gears kept shifting everytime pressure was placed on it

and being the kind soul tt i am

i exchanged my bike with him
the rest of the journey was more or less accident-free

which reminds me of the 'cycling trick' of riding zigzag upslope

we left ubin with a sense of accomplishment..
of having trekked that far all over the island
of cooking maggi outdoors with the littlest appliances
of feeding poor hungry strays called milo, leftover noodles and soggy bread
of waiting and lending a hand to friends who are on the brink of frustration-izom
of getting a chance to meet mother nature and enjoy the fruits of her labour
of capturing the moments we had on film
and keeping the rest in our memories

and last but not least,
of suffering from aches and pain the very next day
but knowing that it was all bloody hell worth every minute

serves an awesome plate of baked rice
all the rest of their other dishes are mostly seafood
and its very fresh and quite affordable too
i wanna go there again!
after an early dinner we stayed there for another round of monopoly; spongebob-style.
we all got pwned by kenneth.
there were 6 players, me, eugene, kenneth, sherilyn, jian hui and siewkee.
eveyone managed to snag plots of their own.
my mrt-owning tactic was stolen by jian hui.
but in the end he also went bankrupt when he tried alliancing with siew kee, who was losing.
haha
he said us 3 (ken, eugene and me) were like the US, Japan and Russia.
the 3 big countries eating off of the smaller third world countries (them).

in the very end,
ken teamed up with sher
while i teamed up with eugene.
what a headache.
a neverending game.
but we got pwned~

and he owned all the mrt stations and utilities.

till i landed on free parking and got $1700 worth of tax.

this particular game of monopoly was played in front of the SA Office
Blk E Level 4. Outside the lift.
it was the best bright and windy spot we could find
after the aircon was shut off at 1pm on Saturdays.

Then two years later,

Wednesday night we came to visit the juniors during practice
so while we 'gambled' our paper money away, sweet joyous music played in the background

so i've finished watching Grey's Anatomy Season 4.
Its superb with juicy doctor love drama and sarcastic jokes.
you guys have GOT to go and watch it.
cuz i'm hooked!

watched 'The L Word' at the chalet thru Faz's laptop

i guess its not my type of drama
dramas tt catch my attention are either full of hott guys and gals (the OC),
in the hospital setting (Grey's Anatomy, Scrubs) or comedy.

i saw the ads and trailers while in London
it looked interesting so i kept wanting to wait till the show started
(it starts at around 10pm usually)
but something always, ALWAYS happens right before the show starts
i either get effing sleepy and retreat to bed
or someone changes the channel
and well its not like i cant just change back
its cuz i dun wanna aggravate the house owners who have been ohsokind to me for letting me stay in their house and cook in the kitchen
so i give in ..
and 10pm is kinda impossible to stay up until
considering we were still suffering from jet lag the first few days
*imagine going to bed when the clock in the living room reads 8pm*
hah! which is soo impossible back at home unless i'm havg a horrible headache
for me, fatigue kicks in only when both hands are past the 12 mark

the irish fling

This has been bugging me. Need to get it out for abit.

Talking about the good stuff nearly made me forget some of the negative stuff that happened during Incubus. Well not really on my part..

But more to a blur-looking Chinese dude standing about two to three rows in front of me;

who, apparently, stepped on someone's girlfriend's toes. Who, btw was so not dressed for a rock concert. I mean come one la, you are squeezed shoulder to shoulder with strangers who are sweating profusely and all desperately breathing for air. All packed in the same place to witness two great bands perform and you expect ppl to care abt whose toes to avoid.

And to top that off, she was wearing effing large hooped earrings like 8cm in diameter ;O

Precisely, wtf.

Me? I get so scared of wearing even dangly earrings for fear of leaving the place with gaping earlobes. Oh the horror! Ohh the pain!

So ladies! Do check your vanity at the door when you ever decide to attend a rock function however small in which you expect at least some rough tussling and you still wanna stand in front. Expect a fight or a push. And fight back.

Nothing beats revenge!

Like for example, you're going clubbing.

There's a 90% chance that you'll get groped by some horny stranger. So dont act all traumatised when that happens. Well maybe you will be traumatised if its your first time but it all normal. Drunk dudes are like that.

And then there's still a slim 0.5% chance that a cute Irish guy will ask you for a dance and then leave with a few pecks on the cheek..

tho everyone said the ticket was too expensive, it was damn worth every cent to watch the band that you've listened to from young (Incubus) and the one i've grown to love so much (Saosin!) perform live! i'll do it all over again even if it means going alone twice.

i get excited everytime i relive the concert in my mind.
the best part was the opening act of course. cant get enuf of saosin!
Cove sure knows how to work up the crowd. Tho it seemed they were damn hard to track down to take pictures with.
I sure wish they will hold their own concert here. I'll be the first few in line!

For Incubus's set the most memorable part was when they sang Megalomaniac. Everyone was jumping to the chorus. It was super crazy fun! Haha.
Not too sure if anyone took videos of tt song tho.

Next up. Singfest 2008! August! Heard from Faz that the bands that are confirmed to play are: Bayside, Anberlin and Atreyu. And tt its gonna be a 3 day affair!
How cool is that? And i had been kicking myself for missing their gig last year (Anberlin). And Atreyu! Exs & Ohs baby~

first was 'The Martian Child' with John Cusack as the lead actor.
whoa. i so love stories that brings me to tears. About a man who tries to connect with his adopted son who is rather eccentric (he lives in a box and despises the sun) and thinks he comes from mars. Has its funny moments..
a definite 9 over 10 in my books.
funny and heart warming.
just brings a smile to my face.

Another nice movie was 'Across The Universe' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Across_the_Universe_%28film%29
Its a musical kinda movie which is very The Beatles influenced. Loved the actors and actresses in the movie. Their voices are superb. I might try to get a hold of the OST for this movie soon..

the days have been flying past ohsofast and i just dun wanna leave london!

i've had so much fun these past one week plus and i'm so not looking forward to going back.
well yeah of cuz i miss my crazy brothers and my mummy and daddy.
but i'm not looking forward to the other things i left behind.

we have monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday left.
monday, today we're gonna visit the landmarks and take loadsa pictures.
tuesday we gonna go visit prim's grandpa
wednesday we gonna cook chicken rice for the family and shop for people back at home
thursday we gonna rest at home til evening time
and then go to NME awards after show party til late!
woohoo cant wait for that

other stuff tt we have done in our stay
. visited madame tussauds wax museum and took lots of pictures
. ate fish&chips. seriously the chips here are soooo different. McD fries are diff too
. went to a cinema. biggest cinema EVER.
. ate their ohsoeffingdelicious nachos. i SWEAR i'm gonna miss that. with its green preserved chilli and salsa dip. my mouth is watering right now. ahhhhhh
. went to the ZSL and Whipsnade Zoo.

it was the children's area where it was just like a petting zoo
there were sheeps and goats roaming all over
the rabbits were kept in their cages
(too bad we couldn't cuddle them)
so while my back was turned and was oogling at the cute itsy bunnies..
i felt something pushing my backpack
i thot it was some kid who wanted to get a closer look at the bunnies
but to my shock when i turned,
something big brown and hairy stared at me
i squealed and let him push his way up front
everyone one else parted to let him thru
it was too cute(:

the beginning of the twist

the trip to Madame Tussauds two days ago was great. Managed to get a picture with Captain Jack Sparrows and many other wax figures. But i was disappointed to find that many of the other idols were removed cuz they keep changing the lineup. Madame Tussauds IS kinda small.. Smaller than i've imagined uh.
can't find Jude Law or Heath Ledger (not sure if he's even made)
i enjoyed the day out tho (:
madame tussauds was 21.50 pounds

the next day we went to watch a movie at O2 Vue Cinema.
OMG the place is so goddamn big.

the nachos are TO DIE FOR!
i swear they are so delicious that i bought a big serving AFTER the movie
my little brother would so love this.
he loves cinema nachos (:
the movie was Over Her Dead Body starring the eversogorgeous Eva Longoria
and some other stars. oh and the American Pie couple!

after the movie we went out into the cold to the Greenwich Park
its been said that people from all over would be lying in the park sunbathing
doing fun park stuff in the summer
but post winter its still a bit crowded
tho there wouldn't be much people willing to stay long in one place for more than 15 minutes
it was a foggy/misty afternoon tho
the view was breathtaking! (literally too as the hill was kinda steep ahha)

we bought three tickets to attend the NME Aftershow Party 2008 at the Indigo @ O2!!
GAHHH! :D
O2 is this wonderfully big place where big stars used to come over and perform their concerts at.
NME is this wonderful magazine published in the UK covering wonderful indie British bands like The Kooks, Boy Kill Boy, The White Stripes etc.
This year's afterparty will feature names like The Futureheads and Club NME DJs Filthy Dukes, Lady Hawkes etc.
I know that there'll be other big stars making appearences throughout the show.
cuz last year's party had Oasis Gallaghers, the Artic Monkeys and Paul McCartney in the crowd!¬

yesterday we stayed home and cooked NASI LEMAK for everyone.
they were so looking forward to having a Singaporean dish. the adults mostly.
cuz they missed having Asian food and it has been some time when they last came to sunny SG.

there were 11 of us in total.
all the dishes turned up good. especially the rice! yipee¬
heee we were so proud of ourselves *beams
we volunteered to cook another Singaporean dish for them before we go.
anyone have any suggestions on what to cook?

then after dinner, we were pooped.
prim's cousins offered to be our waiters and served us
banana splits. yummmy!
it was hilarious the way they acted out the restaurant scene in real time
especially the scuffles in the kitchen
too cute
even the parents 'layan' them by asking them to take their orders and
complaining about the state of their drinks
one waiter even got reprimanded when he wiped the forehead of one of the 'customers'
utter chaos.

that was what i find i really liked in London
the family bond.
everyone is so close to each other
they spend so much time together
that they know what they like
they know how exactly to annoy the other person
heh
i guess having cold cold weather does show how cozy it is to stay at home with the family
the dark streets and threatening crime rates play a part to keep everyone home early too
it is really so different in Singapore

well we are getting ready to go to Madame Tussaud's now.
the famous wax museum.
excited.

First things first.
A HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone. May 2008 bring much love and happiness to eveyone. Personally i've learnt to live and let live. Many lessons have been taught and experienced both painful and not. I guess all i hafta do is come out of it a better individual- its all up to me and no one else.

Went to Escape ThemePark with some Guitar Club members. All the fun, laffter and many screaming ourselves hoarse for a simple price of $7/-. yeahh~

went to celebrate the end of 2007 with my VLC lovelies, coughcoughoptimusahem Primela and Jays'on Sensati'on. Together with Reise the horse, and Optimus A. the hott hott bear.

Watched one of them dancing sexily while me and Prim laughed our ass off. Danced to Allura signalling the new year. Sharing Simpsons jokes. With me and prim singing PlainSunset and Taking Back Sunday songs till the sun came up.

Reise - A Musical La Guitare Journey 2007

La Guitare was a success thanks to the hard work of everyone from the backstage crew, to the emcee, instructors and performers.
The audience also helped out by being completing Mr Micheal's song by being so sporting and fun. Hope all those who came enjoyed themselves cuz i enjoyed myself so much.
We were asked to keep a smile on our faces while performing and then i turned to the left to see Jeremy and Mark dancing to our songs. Mr Micheal also made us laugh by sticking his tongue out. HEH the audience missed tt.

There's so many things i've been up to. One of which is the Lime Sonic Bang!
This time they made it at Sentosa. Wasn't such a bad response considering there were many who came over to the beach.
my escort for the day was none other than PRIMELA!
woots. our weekend. had fun disturbing u and such..

Met up with my bro and his friends.
The most memorable event happened on A Vacant Affair's set. We were waiting so impatiently for them to come up and when they finally came on... hell broke loose!
I had so much fun moshing along to the songs. Prim had a hard time trying to record the set but to no avail. She was my cushion as she stood beside the barricade and me. Whoa it was so darn thrilling. Only thing is i have to stop wearing slippers to mosh pits! Only one minute into the 1st song my slippers came off. So had to endure the stinging sand and yet even more stinging soles of shoes. HAHAH. Fark! I wish i wore shoes tt day. But it was damn worth it. We limped happily back home...
